Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Non US employee retention

If you want to stop non US employees leaving the job, give them salary hike asap rather than waiting till July. This would be the only motivational factor for them to stay in Avaya. Or Avaya will end up investing more money in hiring new employees during this bankruptcy crisis. Also it would be hard time for HR's to convince new hire that Avaya is doing great even though we are bankrupt.

GB communication session today, another load of total BS. Yippee we're backrupt and going to save 50% on interest cost by doing a debt for equity swap. Poor fools on the other side of this deal....

only way to keep the valuable engineers is to provide with reasonable salaries, only sending worthless chicken soup emails is totally useless

True, its all part of the game. Q4 was profitable because of unpaid leaves contributed by employees.

BS and a ton of it. Don't forget it was the US staff that took unpaid leave in Q4 which contributed to our best ever results. Why should you exclude them. Someone turn out the light.

you'll get a HIKE alright! hike out the door. the company is not about retaining - it's about cost cutting. Retaining will happen much later.

You guys don't get it. There will be no salary increases. There will be a calm period of maybe 40-60 days (to mid March) and then there will be significant layoffs occur globally.

Keep dreaming! Present Indian leadership is not strong enough to justify US bosses about the need of immediate salary hike. Good leaders and HR's have already left Avaya. By the time they emerge out of bankruptcy, the best once would leave and buffoons will only remain in Avaya. Wait and Watch the fun!!!!!!

Salary hike of 20% should be announced immediately for non US locations or at least low cost geographies.

Money can't buy everything. I doubt if people will stay with a bankrupt company and at the same time dreaming that Avaya will emerge better after Chapter 11.
