Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

If I were Avayas competitor

I'd be f*cking terrified.

Avaya produced the best network fabric by far (yes it was inherited from Nortel, but Avaya put the icing on the bland cake), came out with breeze, equinox all while saddled with massive debt and financial restrictions. Imagine what we're going to do when debt free in two months!

Equinox is as about as inspiring as an STD. To think that such a badly written piece of crap increases your productivity is laughable.

Honestly in the network area Avaya's competitors don't even know you exist. Network team has done a good job of solving problems that customers dont have, and for over 10 years have been MPLS deniers, total waste of time (complexity doesn't exist when it is no barrier to you implementing). Putting APIs on a management solution that no one uses does NOT make you an SDN company.

Anyone who thinks Avaya Networking has any potential or value has been listening to too much of JT's BS. Right up there with the manageable debt and "no one can compete with us in the next 18 Months" last year.

Are you F'n kidding me. Those of us in the hosted UCaaS industry are licking our chops. We are going to continue eating your lunch. This just picks up the pace. Just another nail in the coffin of the PBX.

Data portfolio only survived because Avaya pulled the Nortel talent with it. Decision makers at Avaya did not have a clue what they bought from NORTEL...they just wanted customers. Ironic that Data is looking to be best product to emerge from BK. And it is clear the Data product team wants to separate itself from the rest of what is happening to Avaya product portfolio teams. Avaya sales force comfort zones was selling phones and boxes with canned applications.

unfortunately the debt will still be there in two months. Chapter 11 does not make the debts "go away". In fact they will have an additional 1 billion to add to the existing. Competitors are aboit to make a killing.
