He has been appointed by the administrators to wind up SLB and sell off what's left to baker,Hal and GE.
A.Gould was just named to the B.O.D. of BJ Services. BJ will be the largest PPS company in N. America.
apparently Gould wants to call time on the transformation and there is an internal power struggle going on about that. I predict Paal will win it
Paal Kibsgard has a communist mentality, he wants to look like he makes long term plans, but he thinks only on short term, he is a lame CEO which I would not hire even to run my store. He is weak, that is why on some locations they fired the best employees, just based on fact that the most experienced guy takes 500-1000$ more then a younger employee or the fact that HR and managers hired all their relatives and friends and fired old and experienced guys, you can see in some locations like Europe how many brothers, cousins, godfather... relatives are employeed there in these locations. Was a strict rule on Andrew Gould time, should not hire relatives in same location at least, now you can find this kind of groups in locations, and all those were not with them were fired. The ones that walking with a paper all day in the office and lots off managers should the fired, not field population. I think Schlumberger is going down and they know that but do not admit it and they do not want for market to find out, that is why they call back Gould, to save the day.
keeps on laying off people to protect profit margin?
The question is what can Kibsgould do when SLB's business model cannot generate revenue?
Gould was rehired to coach Paal K. on transforming the company back to what it once was--the board of directors finally got nervous when looking at HAL share prices which have outperformed SLB by a huge margin.
He was asked to come back because the board have lost confidence in Paal and the transformation
He came back to see what a sh-- show his hand picked successor Paul has turned the company into.
Gould is way too old to be still working for Schlumberger - what does he know about the younger generation? Nuthin
Transformation back on track again? Was it ever on track?
Look at the CNP. You will find him.
Gould was hired to engage with Paal and his team so they can excel
and get the transformation back on track again
Transformation: have three managers required to approve something you need for your job and take 6 weeks. Same task used to require only you maybe one manager and happened in a few days. We've transformed into the IRS
He needs the money it would seem
but wasn't "engage to excel" the tool to get the employees focused again on the transformation? Has that failed too ????
It was never explained very well by management to the workers - just a black box that would make everything better through processes and technology. It seems like most of the rank-and-file lost faith a long time ago, or never bought into it in the first place. Without the majority of people behind the program it was never likely to succeed. It makes sense that the BoD may be wondering at the effectiveness of the Transformation.
