Manager said no work from home but she's still doing it

Houston tx92 building, HPS: so our manager said no more work from home but she's still doing it almost every week. What gives?

Some managers are still working from home AND allowing their direct reports to continue wfh. It's actually much LESS fair now, since some people are following the rules and others not so much.

I assume leadership will provide some data in the near future that shows how morale and productivity have increased since "eliminating" work from home? Right?

Ive been told to go set up my cube and never return. Force thier hand but get fired for cause and loose severance I would think.

Still hoping for us driving over 50 miles each way gets a severance option but with all this driving, not sure how long I can hold on.

Nice to see so many professional and articulate answers. One would think that after 34 years, you might have learned some diplomacy.... but I guess that's expecting a bit too much.

A lot of managers are still working from home but not allowing their direct reports to.

Put in my retirement papers. And yes I will continue to work from home until 3/31/2017.

Rats A##, sorry, but you're the dim bulb. Nowhere did the OP say the boss was sitting at home day in and day out doing WFH. There is no prohibition to ANYONE doing work at home beyond 8 hours/day, nor to meet service people, etc. I simply asked OP to clarify which it was. Many, if not most managers perform some portion of work at home (beyond their core hours). Again, there is no prohibition against this. WFH prohibition is for regular, pre-planned, 8 hour days .

If you're an example of the deductive reasoning in your department, and you've been RIF'd, then hopefully someone a bit brighter got to stay.

It's genius' like yourself that make me glad my 34 years are finally done. There are just too many of you running around.

Who gives a rats a## how many hours she is working from home you moron, the fact that the CEO said No More work from home is enough.

Face to face (F2F) collaboration was the lie, regardless if there is proof no one does any F2F at Honeywell, especially the senior executives.

Everyone sits in a cubicle farm and dials into telecoms all day long without seeing anyone else, no F2F, no comradery, no fun, no happiness, no growth, no mentoring,

OP, so you're saying that she is working 8+ hours in a day from home?

Grow some and ask her in your staff. If it's good for her it should be good for the rest of you.
