Thread regarding Sears layoffs

With dignity and through the front door

So many years ago I walked in the front door with dignity and confidence. Happy to be at Sears and confident I could do a good job. If I get "the walk" tomorrow, I'm going out the FRONT door the same way. Dignity intact and confident I did everything possible to help deliver success. If you also get "the walk", hold your head high. The deck was stacked long ago. Best of luck to All.

I've been repeating this to my self like the mantra ever since I first read it yesterday at @LWZrJwd-3yje Would like to thank the OP.

I worked for Sears since 1989, outsourced once in 2003, brought back when Sears was sold out to K-Mart and then outsourced again last year and finally decided to see what else "was out there" and found a position with another company. I am so happy that I did leave. For years at Sears I was in denial thinking that management knew what they were doing. I have seen many CIOs come and go every couple years. The current CIO is just a big doofus and I knew it was time to go. I did not realize how depressing it was working there for so many years until I joined a company actually making money.

Not sure why I'm posting here, but I wish the people I know at Sears (esp. in IT) would bail before getting hit by the wrecking ball. It's pretty obvious to me (someone who lives nearby) that the company is a downward spiral. Get out before the ship sinks!!

That's always the best way to handle things. Walk away with pride and class.

Indeed. The trigger for me was when I realized that SHC was never going to be a great retailer in any sense of the word, but was being groomed as a financial basis for some other endeavor. Kudos to you for the victorious attitude.
