Thread regarding Sears layoffs

More cuts coming???

I have a question I am a current Sears employee. As of now they eliminated a few lead positions at our store. For the past few days our store manager has been on "company business" (5 to be exact). Can anyone tell us what's going on with this? Who is next to be laid off or get their stores closed? By the way, thanks everyone for keeping us informed about what's going on.

Have your store hours been cut? Are you a leased store or not? How are the sales from last year? Increase or decrease? Bottom line no one knows what Sears is doing. My store is closing down on March 26, 2017. We still had another year to go on the lease. The sales have not been there in 2 or more years, steady going down. Keep working or look for another job. If your store do close, and if your are full-time. You will get 35 hours of week of severance pay, and depending on the years you will get up to a minimum of 8 weeks severance pay, if you have 1 year, you will get 1 week, if you have 9 years of more only 8 weeks severance pay. Vacation is yours to use. If you have personal holidays, we get 2 in Feb, if the store closes and you have not used your ph, you will lose them. God Bless.
