Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Cutting cost

If Eddie is really serious about cutting cost. He needs to start at the top. With all his executives. Then work his way down to Regional People, then district people. Then lastly his store and DC people why cut the lowest paid people. Makes no sense. The lowest paid people are the ones who make him his money.

They have already started to merge jobs together and cutting hours. I think it is only going to get worse. They want us pushing harder to get people on the sears master card and get them using it while I would be happier to just get more people it.

They can only cut up top at this point, they have already made cuts on store level to where there is hardly anyone on the floor and if you are lucky, one cashier

It's always been that way. I remember my first taste of this many years ago when regional staff would cruise around in their Porsches and Jaguars, then b--ch at store managers for not getting everything done in the understaffed stores. I was one of those store managers. They have done a lot of higher level cost cutting over the years, and the exec jobs aren't what they used to be. I suspect they don't have much left to cut anywhere without causing further damage to the business. But that's not going to stop them. Next they'll be replacing cashiers with coffee cans by the door and signs asking customers to leave payment on their way out.
