Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Investors Meeting

DB must have said something to spook the analysts - stock down sharply right after her presentation.

INTC is dead money for a long time. They will trade in a tight range for the foreseeable future barring any geopolitical mishap (which isn't a stretch, mind you). NVDA and AMD both have room to run, thought AMD is a better bet given its position at the start of its growth cycle.

With INTC, you either hold it as a dividend stock or short the s---er relentlessly. Play on.

For first time in years, competition real. AMD, Open POWER in China & google, ARM (Qualcomm and Cavium, BYO ), nVidia = end of DCG living on borrowed time & price gouging.

Memory is the only bet. Zero memory competition? Effect of legalizing pot in Oregon & California...

Arrogance to customers pervasive proprietary FPGA, proprietary networking, proprietary memory...).

Giant customers will drive a stake through this plan (Intel integrating AMD GPU -- Apple insistence perhaps??)

When the street figures that out, watch out - free fall.

The TAM was already there - INTC just plans on addressing it. Pretty misleading slide.

Sorry I misread to slide, the Optane share of S55B Non Volatile Memory Si TAM was so small I missed it. I was just looking at the Huge Up Arrow , Looks like they estimate 4%, if things are to scale. OK not a wet dream, more of a huge disappointment after all the hype.

you can see the material present by signing up for the Investors meeting at https://www.intc.com/investor-relations/events-and-presentations/events-calendar/default.aspx. According to my untrained eye, the layoffs have costed, so far, $1.88B and the Optane technology seems to be targeting a full 25% of the Si TAM in 2021, anticipating zero competition in this space, seems like a wet dream to me,
