Service desk will be training to handle 605 responsibilities. Are they laying off 605 associates, or training them for other jobs?

Simple store is a way to consolidate both Kmart and Sears. IT is an extension of the "one touch" program. They only want one person to touch an item, one time. So any job that can be eliminated and done by another will be eliminated and the other job consolidated into it. Like at Kmart the 605 is being downsized and the Service desk will do part of the job. Eventually, the 605 will be eliminated. They have already eliminated the backroom, pick-list, pricing etc and have others doing the job or with one touch you dont need a pick list, backroom lead.
It is a way to get one employee to do the work of two and to cut cost. Some of it makes sense but they also need to increase hours so that the one person two jobs idea will work. Right now you have one person doing the job of two with the hours of a half an employee. Most part time 605's can just move to another job in the store, full time 605's will have hours cut to 10 hours a week or less. Kmart first then Sears.
So let me get this straight because I work at Sears and I did see a Simple Store Plannogram hit my store last week that we have been working on.
Every store is now a Simple Store Kmart and Sears?
I thought they were just making the plannograms easier to read.
If so this thread needs to be bumped under a new heading.
Please don't tell me I have to wear a t-shirt to work in a very nice mall.
Tshirts for what? Saying we are simple?
Also coming to Sears soon. Get ready! New t-shirts are coming too
It is not for just P2P stores. Every store will have this in a few weeks. They are rolling it out week by week. If you get the paper that will be printed with the paperwork that the software update has been completed for your store you are now part of the Simple Store process. Ours happened a few days ago and all stores will have it by the end of the month. Just a heads up.
Kmart 605 is a department code for merchandise credits and claims, the area of the store that handles all broken/damaged/ over 24 mos merch.
I believe this is only for P2P stores, not all stores were affected by this, if MCC is a PT they are most likely safe as they will be absorbed into the store, if they are FT then probably will be let go. Also not all BRL were let go, that cut was just in lower volume and negative performing stores.
What's Kmart 605?
Anxiously awaiting leaky containers of bleach and ammonia based cleaners being dropped in the same box.
605, used to be handled by the Backroom/Receiving full time Lead. But wasn't that person fired? As part of the "Simple Store" concept?
