They promoted people already making a lot of money and gave them more money. Meanwhile the people actually doing the work are shuffled around like chess pieces and still expected to do a great job with no incentives in sight. The environment they have created is so distracting and negative

Being an employee going on 28 years st the fridley D.C. I have seen first hand the executive team making big bonuses and promotions on the warehouse workers back the temp strategy has reduced the payroll for hourly teammates and raised payroll for the executive team whom relys on the hourly teammates for all the training not utilizing the resources that the non exempt teammates have acquired over many years i.e. Promoting within is targets biggest mistake the arrogance of power and control that the executive culture has over the nonexempt employee whom over the years had had a big part in targets growth success if target wants to improve there failing distribution network they need to put there executive ego aside and let the hard working nonexempt workers who have up to 50 years of experience into the decision making I want target to succeed but I believe they need to restructure there exempt and non exempt strategy don't let power control and ego bring a great company down. I could go on for ever it's time to put respect back into the non exempt worker the country was built on hard working blue color workers and not just because of there work ethic but also because yes believe it or not there intelligence.
Gregg was a merchant... having him run things didn't turn out so well.... Also, Tony - running things in Canada - that didn't work out so well either... Merchants should start getting over themselves and realize how little they know.
I loved every time I had the chance to work with some incredibly arrogant yet completely stupid merchant. I got to practice speaking slowly, and using simple words... add in some buzz phrases to get them excited about doing their dumb job. God I don't miss that.
I'd argue you should keep merchants out of all leadership roles. They don't generally have the brains to understand things, and are too arrogant to listen to people who can.
Should be all merchants running the place. You think an IT geek knows anything about how to run a retail business? No way. Sit back, shut up, and code some sh*t.
Some people got demoted from Manager to Sr. Designer. Some team shifts. Nothing revolutionary. No layoffs.
Hey OP you stole my post. I'll take that as a compliment...
the more merchants running other organizations the better
Tru dat? Really???? That's quality
True Dat. I feel ur pain. Your leaders are the worst! Would you be able to give more juicy details about the reorg for those of us not in PD?
