Looking for work and got a call-anyone at this location currently? What's it like? Would it be a waste of time to accept a position? The outlook looks bleak but I am curious to know

It would be like stepping on the deck of the Titanic after the ship split in half. There is no possibility of a long term future in SHC retail. I suppose a job there could be done for a few months in the hopes of gaining unemployment benefits after the thing falls apart.
I have a friend that works there, he says he loves it. Maybe it's where you work? Or what department?
Take the job if you have nothing else. If you can work at McDonald's --do so, If you can work a convenience store--do so. If you can pick up trash on the side of the highway--do so.
If you can clean the restrooms and porta pottys at an all you can eat and drink chili festival--do so.
You will be happier and make more money.

I'm not sure why anyone would come to work here, everyone at HE is looking to leave, and I really mean everyone. HE is a dirty place with very few benefits for employees, expensive food, a sample store where the products are more expensive than normal stores. Morale has moved from low to depressing, it's actually quite sad to observe. The decay of the place impacts the attitude of associates who are bitter, mistrusting, belligerent. There is nothing for associates to feel excited about or connected to, that's not to say things can't change if leaders made a small investment (but that will never come as leadership despise employees.) Our stock price has almost hit zero, read through these boards or general news articles and the consensus is the company will no longer exist by the summer.

It's a beautiful place to work. The naysayers on this board are full of it. Plan on working hard and putting in long hours starting out but the rewards are worth the effort. Starting your career with us will bring you happiness and fulfillment for years to come. We even have people who have retired from us, come back to work because they miss the action and comraderie. You can't go wrong here, and the sky is the limit for what you can achieve.
