Engineers will leave, some will stay, new ones will arrive. Avaya will be strong.
No chance for Avaya to capture market again, nor it will be able to survive long after bankruptcy. They need engineers to bring innovation, but engineers are busy searching jobs elsewhere. Sorry dude, your speach is good but engineers have lost trust on management and this is FALL of Avaya.
Will Avaya Lose customers ? Obviously dude. We just filed CH 11.
How is this not bad news ? - The speculative phase is over and now the customers have made the decision either to go with Avaya or not. This helps Avaya get real account of what the effect on revenue is going to be. This will help for a more realistic planning.
What does the future hold ? - I believe that Avaya will come out of CH 11 pretty ok. I am not saying this based on the messages that EC has been playing in a loop but because of the kind of solutions that Avaya currently has.
Will it be easy ? - Obviously not. Where is the fun in doing things the easy way. It will be bloody hard. Employees will have to come up with innovative product and selling strategies. They will be forced to use their creativity for once in a more positive way rather than commenting on this website (me including). Its easy to give up, anyone can do that. But to fight the odds, that's where real charterer lies. I strongly believe in the power of the working employees (not the management). Its the employees that makes this company and it is going to be the employees who will revive the company back.
As a regular employee, I believe its in our hands either to buckle up and get going, or keep blaming the managers, EC and everything else for whats happening. I believe in the former as i have control on the same. I hope you guys do too.
A message for the competitors- Have fun while you still can. In a couple of months you would not know what hit you !!!
The company has disruptive technology. You just need to know how to sell it. The market is not shrinking and will thrive. Consolidations will keep happening!!
I cannot imagine quality people will, hang around or that quality new talent will want to come to a company selling what we sell, it's not glitzy, our brand value is declining, the market is shrinking and the services are becoming more commoditized.
Avaya ET is trying hard to put postive spin on Chapter 11 by issueing "customer wins" to their minions.
When Nortel filed for Chapter 11, they lost over 50% of their customers to competitors. Like it or not, some customers will move on to other competitors and marketshare will dip if they manage to emerge from Chapter 11 in tact
