Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Store Level AP

The writing is on the wall.....the first stages of eliminating all store level AP has begun in favor of remote viewing or "Shared Services" and the new "Interdictive Response Teams". A couple of key phases in Scott Glenn's communication:

1). We will NOT be filling currently open APM roles until further notice.

2). Store level dedicated APP staffing will remain in most stores based on risk level.

He didn't say what the threshold would be.....level 4 and 5? Or just level 5's would keep their staffing? Eventually, all store level positions will be eliminated. He is trying to keep the high risk stores staffing in place for now until all of the regions have the new AMAP positions filled and the IRT's put together.

One thing about this plan.....with the removal of store level AP, the work level for the IRT's will be tremendous due to the dishonest employees and external thieves will see this as open season on SHC!

I think the Shared Services can work, but will the payroll savings cover the additional losses due to all the nonstaffed stores or will it be less because the previous nonstaffed stores will have more attention given to them? I guess time will tell, if SHC is around long enough......

I just wonder what the salary range will be for the AMAPs?? As little as possible, I'm sure!

@2www Since this a site about I am not surprised to read about layoffs here. Poor financial health of SHC is the cause plus the ongoing mismanagement of the company at top levels (Eddie, I'm looking at you!)

so I expect to read about that here too.

I worked for SHLD because I want to....not because I have to! Quit trying to scare people and do something constructive instead of destructive. Everyone knows what condition the company's so save your breath....we're tired of hearing it.

AMAP... Is that an area manager of AP? I saw on linked in some DMAP District AP Managers, that are looking and saying they were let go... Sears stock is plummeting and unless they take the company private it will be toast. APMs need to get out while they can... It baffles me that people hang on tooth and nail to these jobs and don't see the writing on the wall! Look at how many retailers closed and now there is a glut of talent for AP/LP... Heres a few... The Limited (all stores closed), Wet Seal (All stores Closed), Ann Stores (Layoffs of a lot of AP), Macys (A lot of AP)...
