I know upper management decided what the criteria was on the first Act . I wonder what the criteria would be for a second act . Also If you didn't take the VSP first time around is there a bulls eye on your back ?

@3tdi - That's right, criteria will be based on whiteness of your skin and gray in your hair. Extra credit for ISP if you have a pe--sinstead of a vag.
It'll be on the browness of your skin. The paler you are, the more likely you'll get ACTed.
I hear they may form a specal team of outsiders to take a close look at anyone gr8+ with a history of L1 and L2 stock. HR logic is the act on L4 and L5 did not fix the company so it may be the top performers who are not delivering the leadership expected. Also if you are a top performer you may be spending too much time brownnosing your boss and empty powerpoint and too little of work ouput. Screen will be something like multiple l1 or l2 + time with same boss + number of travel days claimed on expense reports.
@ill If ACT is not something that BK can control then he should resign. It's the purpose of his position to control the company. Also if he can't control this aspect of the company then he shouldn't be making statements about not needing to do ACT - making a definitive statement where one has no control is reckless and irresponsible. (Irresponsible...Kinda like the $B acquisitions desperate attempts at new markets, pathetic track record on Moore's Law, etc)

Vsp was an algorithm that chooses age just by the algorithm and how high grade levels and seniority work.

@L9gNjJM-vef It's not something BK can control, He avoided act1 as long as he could. Its company's performance leading to cost cuts and hence things like acts.
@L9gNjJM-ixz That metric actually makes sense, while Intel will never go for it because grade progression will mean more salaries for people. It'll be a win-win for employees as well as Intel if such folks are VSPd. Such employees can use their talent in some other company and Intel will be better off saving a few bucks.
I think BK already clarified there is no ACT planned for the recent future.
Time in grade past the median will be a "performance" metric used. The longer you have been in your grade without a promotion, the more likely you will get targeted. This is a way to remove older or non high performance workers while avoiding age, gender, or other discrimination claims.
If you were offered VSP in the last round and did not take it, you are already targeted. A VSP offer is like a gunshot across the bow. It is fair warning you are next in line.
