One thing I have noticed about the Game of the M&A Engineering is that most, if not all, the profits end up in the hands of the wealthiest/connected players the instant a M&A i is created. Rest is strung along at best to keep producing more and more for less till they are fired. Biggest game of Wack-A-Mole.
