Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

WSJ today on 2016 -- "S&P 500 has a New Winner: Chip Makers". But no mention of Intel ...

The Wall Street Journal article discusses 2016 segment-level results as superior to FANG (Facebook/Amazon/Netflix/Google). PHLX index up 39%, Nvidia up 231%, AMAT up 76%, Micron up 61%, Qualcomm up 32%. Nvidia is getting market love for its work in AI. Intel wasn't even mentioned in the article, which in a way is worse than mentioning it's 2016 results (which were modestly positive but not at the level of the others). What's the explanation for this?

Intel is irrelevant.

Dead money for 20 years.

Intel is losing the race. The article was only about winners. Who cares about the losers?

Hard to believe you missed the point. It's because the article was about chip winners.
