Telecom requires experienced people. Even the customer service job I worked for 10 years required a fair amount of knowledge and don't get me started on the various systems, most of them poorly integrated and fairly unstable.
I know this posting is older, but it is stupid either way. So, you are saying that they should can a person with 20 or 30 years that know how to actually do their job over a rookie that knows nothing about the industry? You are a fool. I have just under 20 years with the company, worked in 3 different fields within this company and I am not even 40 years old yet. I still have many more valuable years left to work, but hey, you want the brand new people to keep their job over the ones who have been here longer. I am glad you dont make the decisions.
Windstream, has the worst Culture imaginable. They hire new people, and when the company see's the stock price going down, shortly after they begin Lay off's. They have people working for them that have been their for 30 years or more. Do they Lay off these examples of Dead wood. People who have learned to Milk the system and get as much as they can out of it No! They Lay off the new people, the ones that don't cost as much and they keep the more expensive employees. Does this Make sense?
This company exists as two companies one as a Reit, which is the one that holds all of the assets of the company, the Other as Windstream, which gets all of the Debt. Very poor planning at this company, Bad decision making at the top. Really weird environment.
