@nda - even in the Hatch bill that he is talking about in your link says that it would raise the pay of the H1B workers. This is counter intuitive to what Microsoft, Intel, and others who abuse the H1B system. Raising the pay of the H1B would essentially kill all H1B. It would FORCE the US firms to seek out local talent, or train. There is a price to pay for the security / protection of the USA. It is time for the companies to do the right thing. They won't go to other countries because that would jeopardize all their IP. Killing the H1B is the right thing for America.
Not going to happen. Senator Hatch, Chuck Schumer, Richard Blumenthal, Lindsey Graham, Nikki Haley are some of the Republicans supporting the H1-B visa. Nikki will want to be bringing her friends and relatives from Punjab over. So don't hold your breath.
