Is it possible that we'll have job cuts in Armonk.

I've started a thread for 2018 here: @OLbfSBK you can also see it here www.thelayoff.com/t/OLbfSBK
How about 2018?
Let's see, pension plan cut and eliminated post 94' pensioners forced retired at half or less. Pay grades become combined 'band levels', 30+ years of service. They get 'retired'. No state or government oversight, hmmm...and the band plays on.
Winter is coming
March 2017 they will begin I am sure. Do not sign any papers and get a lawyer. Evil company.
A word of caution. I recommend that you read a message about this at:

There was apparently another announcement expanding the workforce reduction program called "co-location." If people don't move halfway across the country, they lose their jobs. Of course if they do move, they probably lose their jobs before long anyway.
Any updates on this?
IBM is going to layoff 100,000.. 1 in 4 workers so Ginny can maintain her lifestyle & retain her yearly bonuses.. This should start in the next week or so I heard from a good source.

IBM blamed engineers first, then they blamed sales folks, now they blame bean counters... Hmmm
Really how disconnected are you??/ The financial engineers running the circus only know how to play money games. Of course they will layoff in Armonk
Bean counters always ready to lay the smackdown. Get out and explore the outside world you will thank me for it!
Relax and take a deep breath. Drink some Kool-Aid. Trust me on this: life is much better outside IBM.
You are dead right here:
prediction: Revenue drops precipitously in q4 of 16 and carries forward throughout 2017
one could argue that the folks making the decisions have not walked the streets with those that are generating revenue to see first hand the barriers they have created and continue to create for those very individuals that generate revenue dispite the the executives decisons.

Cuts are rumored for next week, and a big one (and reorg) in January. They are often delayed though, so who knows when, but they'll happen. Everywhere.
So those in Armonk are somehow above the struggle that the 'common IBM'er' (who actually do work) finds themselves fighting just to keep their job and their sanity?
Seriously?? - This is IBM..
