Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What about those who must do the laying off?

I've had to lay off and transfer staff last year and this year. Business is slow, profit-wise. I got to choose how many and who but my recommendations were scrutinized all the way to the top of the operating company. Nobody takes this lightly and it is difficult work. It is hard not to feel bad about the whole situation, but it is a business and we are expected to manage it well.

If any Chevron manager can't carry out the task of cutting the right people under them, they should be fired for incompetence. Get on with it moron.

The managers get paid big bucks to handle such things as layoffs. Unfortunately many lack the intestinal fortitude (i.e. Balls) to handle it which is why they bring outside consultants in to bolster their courage and lack of backbone.

-4sge , Thanks for the tip, then we just need to fix that pesky constitution, especially the electoral college!

Use the men's and women's restrooms on the executive floors, smear fecal matter on the hooks inside the stalls. The rest of the day, they will smell something awful.

-2nlp, I do not have a wife, but I do have a very fit, handsome husband who works out regularly. I am the manager who would likely cut you from the tree if you are a pathetic piece of deadwood.

At the end of the day, you keep your job and laugh with your obese wife over your Golden Corall

My job is very tough, except for having to cut losers like you from the team, 2tms. Those are the days when work is easy and plenty of progress is made - LMAO!

I am confused about why this post got started in the first place. Letting people go is a tough job but you enjoy the act with certain individuals. What do you expect to hear?

Your job is not that tough

Unfortunately, -1kfr , my future is even more bleak than that. I am carved in stone. I am like a fixture around here. It's because I am a black woman. I have been told that I will be the last one to go because Chevron never cuts people like me for some reason, which I am happy with but also sad in a way, wanting to retire soon at some point. So I am here to deal with the so-called "butthurt losers" and "dead-wood"as they are referred to on this site and have to cut them from the tree occasionally. Sometimes I regret it. but other times it's good riddance like the posters on this thread, many useless trolls. I did not make that vile post below, you are correct it was a troll riling people up for no reason. I hope that you don't get cut, you seem like good person, a rare thing these days.

Yrv.... and your point is ? I've had to lay people off before, it's no fun. You go home and tell your wife it was a bad day. I've also been laid off and i go home and tell my wife it was a bad day. Which scenario has the worst outcome ? Your scenario, go back to work the next day. My scenario, try to explain to your family that held you in high esteem, that you are now unemployed, unlikely to get work again and still trying to support your kids through college. And your second post (if it was you) is just nuts. I hope the whole post was some troll trying to wind everyone up. If you're for real and a current CVX employee (mid-level manager... Whoop-de-do) then you are an arrogant, self important, disgraceful idiot who deserves to get hit next round. Adios MF.

YOUR FUTURE IS CERTAIN INDEED!!!!!!! LMAO s---ers!!!!!!!!
