Says shutdown of the wearables unit is on the cards after one of its products failed. Sounds like intel is making it a habit of closing entire units (first mobile, now this) en masse. Even so, you can bet engineers (atleast the younger ones) will still beat a path to its door come what may - the lure of the brand and the big bucks is just too hard to ignore.

Anyone who received VSP and did not take it should be gone at next ACT.
Nice time of the year to be out of work. Thanks intel and happy holiday.
Intel stock was at 35.44 on December 29, 2015. It closed on Friday at 34.95. Good luck with a stock drifted up for a few months and then settled back to the same levels as last year.
@hwc - Emoji STFU and GTFO. Babbletards not welcome here. Go back to your safe space.
Yep, layoffs in wearables and IOT teams in San Francisco, Vancouver, Oregon, Germany and Israel. Invites for middle/front line management preparation meetings are out. I guess all announcements at the sites will be done by Tuesday.
@qek the final solution?
Yes, yes, and more YES!
Who needs innovation when you can always buy a startup and plunder it?

Yeah, so? Everyone knows that millennials are known for job jumping. Per CNN: The new normal is for Millennials to jump jobs four times in their first decade out of college.
So why not join Intel for the big bucks? They aren't like OWM that want to make a career out of the company they go to work for, it's just money and a job to them. They simply move on (without all the tears, frustrations & badmouthing that OWM's are doing). They're pretty damn smart if you ask me. They don't think about the job as 'golden handcuffs' like so many older Intel folks do... they siply shrug and move on to the next gig.
