Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

SUO PGH is going down. Reducing force by 50%. Confirmed! What CD's/AM's will go, who will stay?

Worked for a few hours today. Not because I care either way, but because they allow me to. My job was to "call all 0 and 1 posters". What a joke. Anyway I heard the two AM's that were here yapping it up. She said they all got pulled into a room yesterday and were asked a bunch of dumb questions about how to fix things. The answer to the problem is start rate. My AM could care less about start rate. Every morning I get told how many apps we have and how many we need. I would say that maybe 1 or 2 people in leadership could actually recruit in our current environment.

From what I hear only 3 teams in PGH and PHX will sit more than 10 students. That's coming off of what we were told was the worst start ever. Come Jan 1/2 of us will be gone. Who will they keep?

2fhp, time to bail. You've figured it out and I'll tell you from experience, once you do things don't get better, you just wind up feeling dirty and disgusted every day when you go to work. Give yourself the gift of freedom this holiday season. Quit. There's a whole lot of opportunities out here for the bright and principled.

Neither CD should stay, they're both idiots and Vic thinks because he got his masters and doctorate from Edmc schools that he's the man lol dude can't even a normal conversation without the person involved and the surrounding people feeling awkward. He doesn't even talk to people that he knows are smarter than him and will either call him out or at least recognize his BS. Directors and up need to be wiped clean people from outside of Edmc need to fill those roles if you want a difference. It that'll never happen because they take care of themselves and make the AMs and ARs take all the fault.

Step 1: goodbye Vic and April

You can't have leadership that does not care about the people.

Step 2: Bring a bit more reporting in order to help AMs identify areas of opportunity

Step 3: Coach towards good conversations and doing what's best for the student.

Step 4: Numbers are a part of this business but it does nothing to base meeting off specifically numbers. All that does is scare people, if the right things are done the numbers will typically follow.
