Anytime I hear somebody say that "things are different now" it's a huge red flag that screams "moron".
Sure, there are exceptions, but they're typically large events and you know them when you see them. Cars changed transportation, cell phones changed communication, and the internet changed commerce. All were blatantly obvious.
In 2005 when Realtors said the housing bubble was "different this time" and had nothing to point to as to why it was clear they were morons.
That's my lesson for you today, OP. That forbes article is clickbait written by a moron. Things simply don't change that quickly.
