WASHINGTON: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump today accused US tech giant IBM of laying off 500 workers in Minneapolis and shifting their jobs to India and other countries as he warned of levying a 35 per cent tax on companies doing so if he is elected.

"IBM laid off 500 workers in Minneapolis and moved their jobs to India and other countries. A Trump administration will stop the jobs from leaving America, and we will stop the jobs from leaving Minnesota," Trump said in his speech yesterday in Minneapolis, as part of efforts to woo voters in Minnesota state which has been a Democrat stronghold.

"If a company wants to leave Minnesota, fire their workers and move to another country and then ship their products back into the United States, we will make them pay a 35 per cent tax. We will also unleash American energy including shale oil, natural gas and clean coal," he said.

I'm with IBM's Digital Business Group. I'm reaching out to you on the topic of application development and DevOps. I would like to better understand how your organization is positioned in this area and discuss IBM's technology to improve application development, deployment, and management. I've included two links on the topic for your review. Would you be interested in having a 10-15 minute introductory call to further discuss this topic and your role?

Let me see what he can do here.

India's buying financial services, pharma products, gmo seeds, medical supplies, software, etc. from us - now, slap 35% here, they will retaliate on all aforementioned... where does it stop? trade is a two way street... he needs to stop h1b abuse asap as that's so blatantly open way of abusing the system, when it comes to shipping jobs overseas i really do not see any way of stopping it - i hate it but i know you cannot stop it.

and on manufacturing jobs - let's say he starts to bring jobs back by imposing tariffs etc - china or whoever will retaliate and we'll get dinged again on software, pharma, financial services, etc... it's a zero sum game...

Trump's right. IBM moving US jobs overseas so Ginni can reap enormous salary. American CEO's have become treasonous bastards. Here's hoping they all get pancreatic cancer and die painfully.

Have a nice rest of your day.

So, after about 20,000 'resource actions' in 2016, this just now makes a headline? People of all ages, long term employees, tech support, sales, etc, throughout this year have lost their jobs and somebody finally says something? WTH
