You can bet the company won't lay off 100,000 people in the year 2020! They will gradually get rid of people every year to the tune of around 30,000 per year, until they reach the 1/3 surplus goal...
Then, considering how things look in 2020, there could be even more layoffs.
Look for massive layoffs to begin Q1 2017.
F--- AT&T. Myself and many of my coworkers worked at the CBC in Long Beach, CA since DTV started. We've all been fired. Each of us is older with good pay and benefits. Everyone has been replaced by punks 1/2 our age, working for 1/3 our pay, and they are all friends or relatives of the management morons that run that whorehouse.
AT&T isn't stupid. If they have my cleaned up enough DTV people by a the time of open enrollment there is always the next quarter or the one after that ....
they need to start layoff at the management levels. they are too top heavy.
Funny story about being below average salary. A few years back they started putting an average salary range on our total compensation report. It was based on your job title and showed your salary against the national average. Naturally there was lots of crosstalk between employees, and in our circles it was heard that everyone was well under the average.
Well the next employee survey came up and wouldn't you know it, lots of responses suddenly coming in about being under paid. Amazingly, when management had their next town hall, they expressed surprise at the sudden rash of employees complaining about pay. They scratched their heads and said they weren't sure where this was coming from. Who would have thought!
