Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Has anyone heard anything about Dept Managers who were under the 47k Threshold?

Is their pay also getting cut 7.5%? My RM said they didn't know yet and HR would be reaching out to the stores managers. Or, if you were under 47K, did you also get cut?

My guess is, most managers work over 40 so if we continue to work our regular schedules we may even come out ahead most weeks. Problem is, home office doesn't seem to realize how many hours we really do work. They have now disrespected us, used a loophole in the new law to pissed us off, and really just stabbing themselves in the foot by all of this.

This year's payroll budget is set, it is expected you will work more hours some weeks, less others. I will be dated if I make less money. I do not need to work 65 hr weeks during rush, I can't, and won't. He'll, most directors work part time, sm3s way less than sm1 or sm2. We are the ones doing the work, not just checking on the people doing the work. How stupid that they want to cut costs but only with the low paid people and leave the high paid alone. Brilliant company.

Every salaried employee, store manager 2 and below, are going hourly. There was a con. Call for store directors but they are not allowed to say anything til Nov. 7th ( I think that is the day).

My calculations, you have to work about 45 hrs a week to match current pay. Rush, buyback, etc won't make up enough hrs to cover slower times (summer), or when store isn't even open 40 hrs.

Regional suggested using vacation time to supplement during low store hour weeks. Great quality of life there.

Don't forget to use up vacation before you lose it as of Dec 31.

it would require 40 hours plus 25 OT hours. That's not hard to do. If you put in 4 hours on weekend, that's a little more than 4/day more. That' s a lot of work. I know people who are doing that now. One of them may have had their pay cut.

I won't cry her a big river. Follett started doing this stuff 3 years ago. If she thought they were cutting dead weight, or she was so good nothing like that would happen to her, she guessed wrong. She better figure out how she delivers value and then find job where that skill set helps.

To the last poster. working 65 hours would entail 40 reguar hours and 25 OT hours which Follet won't allow. SOmething doesn' sound right!!

1 manager is being forced to work 65 hour work week to make up for wage chasing cuts in order to reach her agreed upon salary. Thanks to Follett, this 15 year loyal employee will miss her kids growing up... can't quit...she needs her job and Follett knows they have her/us over a barrel. Another has to use benefit hours on top of weekly wages to keep his family afloat...there goes the family vacation forever!!! But exactly how does that work? Using benefits combined with week!y wages???

Yes, salary cut to hourly rate with a pay decrease!!! Not allowed to work over 40 hrs per week except during rush. Must punch out for lunch breaks. I guess the store will have to close for lunch since no one is here to cover. As manager, I don't know how this will work since I don't have an ASM, text manager, or GM. Team members would do it but why would they without given the pay and hours for the added responsibilty of opening and closing. Not allowed to adjust store hours and I reach 40 hrs by Thursday. d RM has no answers!!!! My team at the store is awesome, but being smashed by Follett.

Have you heard about the employees who watched the company destroy their colleagues, but never thought it would happen to them? Yep, they just got their pay cut. Great company. Glad you stayed?

Of course you will go to hourly and have your pay cut. They just haven't told you yet. Why they are waiting until next week? Because they don't care.
