Multiple layoffs in the US in legacy EMC CS this week. Almost all were long time employees near the top of the pay scale. Talent, knowledge and customer focus didn't matter. It's all about costs. CS is now a P&L.
The Dell layoffs are occurring in RTP, NC as well. I was one of them on Nov. 2. I was an EMC employee before the Dell EMC company formed. Welcome to Dell, you're fired.
The package was some combination of:
Cobra
Two week transition and access to a job consultant
A pat on the head and a severance figured on:
Two months + 1 week for every year of service + 75% pro-rated bonus + 75% of LTI vesting within 90 days
Any idea on what they based these layoffs on since they have done away with the grading on a curve thing during the review process?
What kind of severance packages ?
Dell Nashua got hit today also
Most won't see it coming, I was on the Dell side to see the devastation. They talk about family, etc end of the day you have to prepared .
If smart, you should have plan b in place. Get your pay day and start your new chapter. More changes are coming. layoffs are happening now til the end of the year.
Prior to Dell Purchase Dell had 97K employees Globally. Now the headcount is about 140K. So long ways to go before things settle. However will be swift since Dell year ends Jan 31st 2017.
