The only reason Apple picked intel was out Intel's willingingess to lose billions to win a little fruit. The intel design is dated and it is manufactured in an older TSMC process node. Far supierior offerings are out there and as I said above the only reason Apple picked it was price leverage and savings, sure wasn't power or performance. The 14nm solution is still non functional so another tablet / mobile debacle, what else is new!
intel only chased Apple for the prestige, not likely to give the same loss pricing to others and no one will pay market rate for the garbage intel is making, just like the tablet and mobile products
The only offering from Aicha is a modem chipset, apart from Apple no one is going to spend the effort to integrate it with an application processor while Qualcomm and Mediatek provide an integrated solution with their SoC. Once Apple figures out how to create its own modem solution and incorporates it in their A series processor they will dump Intel.
