I would accept the new job but not tell Avaya. Work the new job and the old job for at least 1 year and then decide which you like better
Very simple, consider yourself most lucky amongst all the employees who are currently searching job and leave Avaya without any second thought. It will be foolish to stay back in Avaya.
And if it turned out that things were improving at Avaya, then what? Reject the offer after it had been accepted? What kind of moron gives advice like this?
