In my 14 years here, I've never been this unhappy with the culture, the leadership, how people were treated in 2016, and the overall environment. Management continues to drive headcount freezes, then rapid hiring, then freezes, we can't plan any projects properly. TMG squandered its lead while mistreating employees, and no accountability seems to exist with its leadership. The entire ACT initiative of firing while hiring, with executives flying private jets, VPs staying at 5 star luxury hotels with limousine service greeting their arrival, double digit raises over stalled revenue growth, the rest of the population getting the usual 2%, staying at holiday inn made to feel that their $30 rubber chicken hotel dinner is over the top is not how Gordon Moore first built Intel.
When Intel has me speak at conferences or academia, I always made it about Intel. Now, seeing how we fire (ACT) to immediately hire, I lost the will to be an ambassador, I bring up Intel as little as possible, and make the conferences all about me, for networking and learning. Now its all about what I can extract from Intel. With neighbors and friends, I am indifferent if they buy Intel or AMD or whatever whereas before I was always championing Intel.
I am trying to survive until April, one last batch of higher than average stock batched vesting, EB, etc, as my new job is to find a way out of this place.
I am a repeat high performer, and was not offered VSP. Each day, I dial in to meetings like an actor, faking my way through the day, being pleasant and trying to stay focused on work, conveying I care, but the reality is I have grown to really dislike the unethical way employees have been treated over the past year. I have my friends formed over the years, and those I retain, but I don't want to get to know my current colleagues at any personal level, or join any GPTW socials, and mostly am indifferent if the whole ship survives or fails. The dozen divisional DRA and IAA plaques are all going in this weeks trash.
I recall during my formative years at Intel being proud, loving the company, wanting to learn more about it, nurturing relationships, and always talking to others about what a great culture and company it was.
Are there others there too who feel dead and indifferent while at work, just hanging on a bit longer to meet a milestone before actively exiting?
End of rant.
