No service company should be as big as SLB is currently at. The amount of inertia and management structure will bring all the segments to their knees. If I am the operator, I would like to see nimble and specialty focused providers than a massive lump limping along.

Well, if oil prices keep on going like this, there might be a hypothetical scenario where producers implement even more brutal cost savings, reducing drilling activities significantly and switching to more affordable alternatives, which in many cases happen to be the Chinese, and SLB eventually dries up at some point in the future..who knows ;)

The Transformation: Make our size a strength!

Still bloated, redundant management with duplication of efforts. How is that going to change in the bureaucratic structure of SLB?

The only right thing to dispose SLB asset will be diced it up into 4-5 individual standalone companies like wireline, drilling etc so they can all be managed like a business instead of a government agency. So far, the size hasn't translated into any competitiveness.

Ha Ha! That would be very interesting to watch. That's exactly what SLB has been doing to other companies. Buying companies in trouble and destroying them.
