Start looking out for job, expect either VSP or ISP coming your way in 2017. I was part of CCG. my manager gave me performance warning in 2015 and I got VSP in 2016. i accepted it since i didnt see any future sticking around with Intel. There are better opportunities and challenging jobs outside of intel. I had done outstanding work and had recieved multiple DRA and SRA awards in end of 2015, but this couldn't save me from getting VSPd. This time it will be even worse considering recent news of qualcomm getting into servers chips and windows 10 on arm. Expect a huge layoff in 2017.
yeah you might want to optimize your job search for a may/June post focal layoff (i.e. wait a few months before starting) might as well collect a nice severance check and a signing bonus if you can swing it ;)
This is a statement that he is giving you a head start to begin looking for a position outside Intel. When a mgr makes such a statement, he sims to get rid of you. At least he is giving you this information in advance such that you are not truly devastated when he gives you the news. Get on your high horse. Get your resume updated. Get s headhunter and start your search!
OP anyone who was bad performance at 2016 and got L4 L5 or IR is gone under ACT.
If this happened later than you are gone this year. Take all your vacation this and first half of next year and find a new job.
BK will use continuous performance management to trim as he still has a busted cost structure and will need more than the 2-4%IR and 5-10% L4 L5 gone😉 And of course selective silent ACTs at all the sites!
