Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

If you don't like Altice leave

If you don't like Altice leave, no one is holding us back.

I still feel good getting to do what i do. If i get and strong or outstanding in my review I still get money.

Yes it s---s whats happening but im not giving 4th percent to a 3rd party than what i have giving already.

Give me my route i will give it 110% percent and go home f--- the union and the false promises. I used to work for Verizon b4 i came here and i still have the sour taste when i got laid off with my other 100 so coworkers.

I don't believe in it and never will. I'm gonna ride this till the end with every cent in my pocket.

I can copy and paste too:) Ladies and gentlemen you do have a choice. Negotiate or quit!! Unfortunately you only have one choice at the present moment and as the person that started this thread said is quitting. Why not add a second choice ? And union dues are not "4th percent " More like 1.7 percent and that is voted on by you the membership.

And the third party is not some anonymous third party. It is a negotiator that You the member vote for from your work center. This person will be trained by the union and represent you .

We are pulling for you guys. We need more union people in our industry. Our company's are in direct competition with each other. And your company has the advantage being non-union.

But for Verizon to remain competitive against a non-union Cablevision and Comcast (and non-union sub-contractors of each of these companies) ,we as a union had to make some difficult choices. This led us to make concessions, we also ended up on strike .

But we had a say in how things went down .When our contract was negotiated Verizon wanted us to give up our pensions, and the list went on and on. In the end we had to pay more for our medical ,but still got the raises we wanted , saved our pension and got Verizon to back off the rest of the demands they had on the table.

Just remember, a full time union worker at Shoprite or Acme is making more than you do. Why do they make more ?Because they have a contract and you don't.

Remember, your CEO just said you guys are going all fiber. That work could all be going to contractors.

See you out in the field. Stop by and say hi.I will be the vz tech you see everyday out on the road.

Altice profit margins in the US at over 41%, IPO in 2017 will will bag them billions. Their empire will grow in the America (that is the plan) . Hey bud, they are glad to give your strong performer bonus while they take away benefits from you all those that have spent years earning them . The only voice that will be heard is the from the brotherhood.

Hey bud guess what if union comes in YOU can leave and have fun trying to find a good job that pays over 20 a hour. It works both ways. Whichever way it will not benefit everyone. Right now it doesn't matter what you will have to pay it matters on job security and putting a roof over your family as well as feeding them and paying the bills. Benefits already went up 7% cost of living 3% yearly a average raise in the company is 2-3% so take your CHEATING NPS A-- AND LEAVE IF UNION COMES IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You counting on your self that's great I wish it was that easy but I cannot let a company destroy what we've made not you because this is the reason we get low pay the blue collar worker cutting each others throat for less and less pretty soon we won't get paid they will just give us food and water

And you'll say we good you happy cause you get a 5% bump that was nothing before and what they say the economy but their profit margins get larger and larger good luck you'll get far in this company best wishes and happy holidays
