Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Samsung Semiconductor

I've been working for SAS, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, after being ISP'ed. Honestly, I noticed that Samsung factory systems and people are not as great as those at Intel. Then I wonder why Samsung is growing so fast and currently hiring a bunch of people while Intel is declining and laying off people. I believe it has to be the high ranking managers that has screwed up this once great company. For those that are still back at Intel, please raise your voice to the top. This might help the company and its great employees, including you.

I agree that management at Intel, starting at FLM, all the way to the top is mostly garbage. I was ISP'd in the last round, in May. Me and thousands of others layed off due to bad management--lack of foresight. The shifting to mobile/cell phones and the threat of ARM has been there for years, if not a decade. There is no excuse for Intel having no REAL phone with x86 inside. Intel will be the leader in a new class of failing semiconductor manufacturers. Joining the ranks of the failed retail giants Kmart, Sears, Montomery Wards, Circuit City, Borders, etc..... It's a shame. Intel was a great company. Lots of smart people there.

And BK, Sohail, Peter, or Peng and Kaizad will listen and make changes?

The fall of Intel isn't due to lack of intelligence or willingness to work hard. It is a culture of arrogance and unwillingness to observe, listen and change when needed. None of Intel's current leadership has the traits to turn the company around.

TSMC and Samsung have ridden the ARMy to victory and left Intel and x86 in rear view mirror to crumble. Tipping point has been past and no recovery is possible.

At least if you are willing to move to Texas, NY, or Asia there is a job for you when the Titanic slips beneath the waves with 10nm ramp

I agree that the Intel management is extremely screwed up. It's been getting worse and worse. Conditions and backstabbing are utterly deplorable.
