There should be a new law that any company who has laid off an employee during the past 12 month is not eligible to petition any work visa like h1b and L1

Yes, happens all the time. They will typically pay your travel back to country of origin. However if you bought a home in the US they will not help you sell it.

company sponsored visa would suggest Geo-mobile or international i guess, i.e most expensive, many of who have already been shipped out
