Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

The way I see it, the PP division has a better deal than the BHI divisions that will be moved under

the GE/BHI umbrella. All this talk about GE taking care of fixing the morale of BHI's employees, one only has to look at the GE site to get an idea of how stressed the GE employees are. They have downsized on their end as well. GE people said that GE will end up taking over BHI's shares in the partnership. Now with the new BJS, that is where I see the opportunities. Even though BHI will keep the GOM offshore and International operations, does anyone know if this new arrangement prevents BJS from going into those markets in the future? BJS was a very strong competitor against Schlumberger and Halliburton and there is no reason to believe that they won't be again. BHI's problems in acquiring BJS was to not allow the personnel to continue to run that side of the business. BJS' ranks were made to feel like the poor stepchild, so you know that they are excited about the prospects of spinning off from BHI.

Wth, no! pp is just tired. Almost everyone is gone..We are happy to be leaving this BHI full of " Lie Bags". But there is nothing good about being dumped as fast as Bhi can get approved for. Also we are going to me managed by guys whom have been moderate at best in the past. So

we will be half what bj was but with nil quality leadership and empty bank accounts..yippie

Agree South Texas Rain. Most of the OPS and Managers did come up through the ranks and not many had four year degrees, but they knew the business well enough to make it successful. BJS provided opportunities for advancement. They valued their people.

It all depends on who heads up the BJS company . If it is the ungreatful , entitled untalented BHI people it will go nowhere . BJS was a good company because they had few managers and the ones they had understood the business . College degrees are given every day , hard working people with heart are special . BHI had neither in their PP division . A bunch of carpetbaggers .
