Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

imagine this on your next focal review

Some examples:

PCs: Three years ago, Intel was going to innovate its way back into growing PC sales with no wires, no passwords and more natural interfaces. Not much in results.

Phones: Intel was going to grow with SOCs and mobile phone sales. Not much in results.

Network Function Virtualization: Data center sales were going to grow 15% CAGR based on TelCom sales to replace traditional ASICs. Not much in results.

IoT: Platform for IoT was going to drive new sales. Not much in results.

3D NAND: Cost disruption was going to grow sales. Not much in results.

Crosspoint Memory: First new memory tech in years. Intel memory is now losing money.

5G: Intel would grow on 5G products. Not much in results.

Autonomous Cars: Grow sales in this new area. Not much in results.

AI: Grow sales to support AI. Not much in results.

A comment in Bruce's SeekingAlpha article "Where is the dividend growth for this year? When comparing to MSFT, do you really think Intel has the management leadership in par with MSFT? "

Answer No and No from Bruce and I agree!

Microsoft and Intel caught a once in millennium moment riding x86 and PCs to riches. Gates and Balmer are gone and they put a brilliant new leader with clarity of vision and the company has turned around.

Intel's BoD failed spectacularly!

Intel leadership has neither any intelligence, clarity, nor strategy. Look as BKs own comments, he has no clue what the next big thing is and is spending billions throwing random darts at the latest fad as he can't comprehend what he gets from his strategic reviews. Who the hell runs a company the size of intel and spends time talking bracelets, charging bowls, and drones? Now he chases AI, autonomous cars and other fads as they are already obvious. To bye time he does layoffs while his home ( 14nm, 10nm, and 7nm ) burns. You'd think he'd at least fix TMG, a house he should know a bit as it was his home, or maybe he really hasn't a clue?

OP you should give credit to Bruce Burnworth at SeekingAlpha!

Regardless it was a great summary of the failures of the company in finding the next big thing while fumbling the only thing they have done well Moore's Law

You forgot the most important foundation of intel since it's founding, Moore's Law is alive and well! Nothing is more valuable and compelling than moving to the next process node! Yet what does intel do? 10nm schedule slips as does 7nm! While TSMC and Samsun ramp 10nm with 7nm pull-in. Tipping point is past..

Amazing the BoD allows this failure to continue!
