We don't even have to wait until 2017.

I feel terrible for those that lost their jobs.

Really the 84 employees had no skills that aren't applicable to any other thrusts like IoT, modems, AI, memory or autonomous cars?

It ain't like we got A team industry leaders and people there that don't need help! We got a bunch of people running in whatever direction BK thinks is the fad growth savior of the quarter. You'd think a company with Intel's size and profits would try and leverage their talent and hang in longer. It ain't like they are so much more a failure as the other thrusts soon will be, LOL. I Exocet IoT, memories, modems, AI and others to be cast aside equally sudden when they fall out of fashion to the clown.

What a phucked company to have to work in!

I am one of the 84. Unfortunately, I drank the Cool-Aid that BK gave us.

With all due respect to the 84 employees in the wearable market, but if BK is an idiot for not knowing wearables weren't going anywhere, and those 84 people didn't move to more profitable groups... that would make them idiots too, does it not @2wgb? It also means that everyone DIDN'T know this 2 years ago or they wouldn't be so stupid as to stay in a doomed group!!! Unless they are idiots too per your logic.

Funny that the newspaper article said reason for layoffs were "poor results in wearables". Everybody knew this 2 years ago except BK. He continued to press MICA bracelets in the skinny fashion model market. Idiot.

Only 84, Intel must be saving massive layoffs for January to keep bad PR to a minimum during the holidays

Eighty-four more for the bread lines. The soup kitchen will be open late throughout the holidays.

Good research, OP! Wow! This is going to be hard on 84 employees. Hopefully, they can add their comments to this board in the future.
