Don't worry we spend money on getting more diversity on the company instead of talent, maybe we are going to be #1 on losing money on stupid things.

IoT and autos dang every new and growing chip business segement is about 10 dollar and less chips. Intel has no clue how to make money nor be competitive in this space. BK is worse than a clown trying to get into this business for revenue growth. Far bigger layoffs are in store for 2017 and 2018 as the initiatives fail and 10nm ramp cost get realized, are you Intelers ready ?

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Your comment reminded me of a note I took from one of Peter Lynch's books on financial principles:

Corporations, like people, change their names for one reason. They've been involved in some fiasco that they hope the public will forget. Be wary of companies that have changed their name. It's probably the same pig...only with a new shade of lipstick.

I worked for NXP when it was Motorola SPS. They can change the name and polish that turd all they want, but it's still a turd.

@mna - I was told by someone in HR before I left the exact same thing. The company will be a lot smaller and very different.

The PE in the IOT group that I talked to before I left didn't know what Digikey was. She said it didn't matter because BK was trying to change the company.

BK drained the swamp of the highly paid (mostly) seniors. Will the rcg, h1b, diverse + overpaid execs he replaced them with do anything other than use INTC as a short term ATM? I hope so but have seen no compelling progress. Plus, tt seems the morale impact on the workers that have to deliver risk taking and innovation is staggering.

No worries, Intel bought Altera for $16.7B, that should cover things right? 💣 Way to go BK 👹

Virtuous cycle that McKinsey and BK dream of will now become a viscous cycle as the spiral turns down. Process delays let TSMC and Samsung pull ahead, making ARM more attractive and encouraging Apple to abandon Intel processors. IOT remains a wet dream of silicon valley. Smart phone sales saturate, no one realistically gives a s&$@ about VR, self driving cars are 20 years away after a few more fatal crashes and lawsuits. Smartwatches stay a niche.

Qualcomm buying NXP is yet another consolidation of the silicon industry, but at least they understand commodity pricing. Intel will forever be chasing the next 90% margin product to its doom.

BK was already dellusional thinking Intel could compete in IoT with x86. Now he would be a complete idiot to continue that course of action.

So, let's recap on the Intel growth areas:

  1. Data Center: Already pressured by cloud ... will be lucky to continue growing 5-10% QoQ. That is, until ARM and/or OpenPower start taking market share.

  2. IoT: Intel will be lucky to retain its market share against QCOM+NXP.

  3. Modems: Iphone7 modem is a complete failure vs. QCOM. Highly unlikely Intel will get any more orders. QCOM already has 5G modem out.

  4. Memory: 3D Xpoint still not out, and actual performamce looks to be well below claims.

Conclusuion: Intel is severely fcked!!!

QCOM bought a sales channel into IoT with an established company.

Intel thinks it can create its own sales channel from scratch because ???

Clown shoes BK will continue to have that "deer in the headlights" look of complete bewilderment.
