Thread regarding Sears layoffs

We have inventory, believe me...

...we just don't have the manpower to put it out. There are items in our stockrooms that shipped to the store a month ago.

Also, corporate seems to be going overboard with their buying, a lot more than years past. We don't have much room left out on the floor. Maybe they are confused and think we are a bigger store?

Every time I hear a customer say "Sears has nothing", I want to invite them into our stockrooms full of freight that has yet to hit the floor.

Our Sears store combined MCAs and cashiers into one position, now we have no one that stays at the registers. Horrible idea, members yelling, 'does anyone work here?!'

Yes, there is inventory around but no one to help with it.

We have freight EVERYWHERE.....even in closets. We have been under staffed all summer. No one is accepting our minimum wage offers for seasonal help. Our store looks horrible!!! We have the Elf run right around the corner, so we've stopped putting freight out and started concentrating on that project so we don't fail. I'm so far behind, I'm not sure if I'll ever get caught up.

You might be seeing an uptick in shipments because holiday orders were done in spring/summer (at least in theory) and tons of stores have closed between then and now, so all of that mdse has to go somewhere.

Some people think that abnormal amounts of shipments could point to the store closing. The company will try to squeeze all the excess mdse into these doomed stores to be sold off during liquidation.

Otherwise, it's just 4th quarter the Sears way. Buy more than what can be sold and sell the excess at a very steep discount after the holidays, piling on to the losses in the process. Some lessons are never learned.

Our Kmart as well.....our back room is full and the floor is full of displays! If they keep cutting the man hours, they better put in self-service checkouts to sell the merchandise! The store is full and looks good, just need the hours to take care of it!!!!
