I am from Cameron IT and my H1 workvisa will be expired March 2017, will the SLB renew that? SLB HR is not responding my queries... (Based on Camron's promise earlier I sold my home in Bangalore and came here and bought a home recently in Katy and in trouble now)

No visa for you! Take Badri with you.
As a US Citizen who has worked and lived overseas, I can assure you that work visas are a two-way street. You lose your job, your visa will be lost with it. It is a fact of life. You knew what you were signing up for, as did I. When you are in a country on an employer-sponsored visa, your family's lifestyle is at the whim of your employer. H1B is a glimpse at life in the US; it is not a foothold for permanent residency or citizenship. I regret your situation, but you'll get no sympathy from me. Go home and start over, it's what adults do.
@"This country doesn't need H1Bs. We will do fine without them.":
Unfortunately for you, SLB (or anyone else) doesn't need approval from Your Majesty on who they want to hire. If you don't like it, feel free to turn in that resignation form. Oh wait a minute, you were let go already or else you wouldn't be on here trolling loll.
Says who. The Congressmen from unrealville?

OP is obviously an American nationalist (and likely a racist) troll trying to incite anti-immigrant xenophobia and conflict. Nice try troll, but no one is falling for the bait LOLL.

H1b is a curse. Been there done that. No renewal means bad news. You're in la la layoff loand
is this a joke??? u got ball to post it here. i give u 1 star for you braveness
Yday one of my friend from Integration team was asked to move to Pune, he refused, he is on H1, not sure whether it's a wise move by my friend
SLB is not a body shopping firm to extend ur visa and they are not Cameron also, bite the bullet, . SLB's slogan Profit and not Visa
The chance you will be sent packing to go back to India is extremely high. Seeing too many cases that the H1Bs were forced to quit or sent back to home country due to visa renewal issue. Need a realtor? My wife is a really good one.
I have seen already several people in my group having to take the plane because the visas weren't renewed.
Stop being delusional, sell the house, bite the loss, if any, and get ready to restart the whole ordeal.
Maybe you learned few things from this experience:
1) Don't F* buy a home while you are on an H1B... it's just too much of a gamble in a volatile industry and with a 10 years plus line to get a green card.
2) Always prepare for the worst and be realistic... doesn't matter how good is your job or how great is your degree... there is a line of tens of thousands of immigrants like you with a better degree and willing to make few thousands less.
If you have reached your maximum extensions and are not eligible for permanent residency you might be forced to leave for at least one year. It has happened to a couple of my staff, nothing to be done except comply.
Pack it up, you won't be missed.
Talk with visa companies and see if they can help you with any options - you may have to pay but if you have a good education background and skills there will be options - I know people who have done this from alb successfully
In my group we just lost 2 people, visas not being renewed I heard. Sorry. Best of luck to you.
