The reason they move everything to Pebble is that when you disagree with something, you have no one to tell. It is hard to argue with a forum. The only people on there are other associates. This way the corporate bigwigs don't have to listen to any complaints .

It seems that on Pebble it is no longer OK to post anything but how wonderful Sears is,or you are told about it by management, at least that has been true in my store since our new store manager took over .

So no one will say anything or ask any questions on it,but sometimes you will still read some concerns from associates ,but they are generally ignored .

This holiday season should be interesting. Any associates from HI,especially lawn and garden, not getting any stock whatsoever for division 71 these days? In my Sears,we have no stick tools, weed whackers, mowers in stock. It is nearly impossible to do all the warranty exchanges, all we do is issue gift cards ,what a joke. Even on Pebble, all you read are stores looking for replenishment in these items ,so I guess no one is getting stock these days.

"We've been told they will hire more associates, stretching an already cut payroll, and PT associates can expect to get 12 to 15 hours a week."

Employees can refuse to train them or train them inefficiently or even train them wrong.

"Yes, why is everything OK, on Pebble?

Pebble is just one big mutual admiration society for upper management. Have you ever read the replies to Eddie's post? I have never seen more kowtowing and @ss kissing than displayed in the replies by the minions worshiping Eddie. If I was paid a dollar every time Eddie was called "brilliant" by those brown-nosing buffoons I would be richer than Eddie.

Oh, don't you know payroll is based on sales...not the full operation of the store or taking care of customers. We must make do with what we have.

Way to ruin business!

Hours for PT are now based on how many tasks you are willing to do outside of your assigned area/dept. Ie, cashier backup, layaway, etc. This really helps complete necessary tasks and maintain depts and accelerate freight distribution in a timely manner plus personifies customer service, you know.

We've been told they will hire more associates, stretching an already cut payroll, and PT associates can expect to get 12 to 15 hours a week. You have to be an idiot to think you are going to keep your competent associates and maintain employment for potential new hires with that awesome revelation.

Can't wait for the holidays.

"Yes, why is everything OK, on Pebble? "

Lately Pebble is nothing but a self-congratulatory and back slapping board that mostly upper management participates in. It allows management to toot their own horn and to prove to corporate they are loyal employees of the Sears kingdom. They love to use Sears corporate lingo by giving a shout out to certain folks and praising them for "putting members first" and providing examples of what "owning it looks like to them" if someone just bends down to pick up a piece of paper on the floor to throw away. A bunch of idiots.

Yes, why is everything OK, on Pebble? Why don't they just be upfront and tell us just how good or bad it is. They blame the media for the bad look that Sears gets from the outside sources, like they are doing everything right. SYWR is a good program, but you must spend money to get money, or the extras that they give you. The some of the stores look bad, and the clothing line is not much, sales are slow. Just tell the truth Sears.

I wouldn't mind having my hours cut as a consultative sales associate on draw commission. It's too damn slow to be scheduled a consistent 40 hours a week, Every hour you stand around without a customer is an hour you technically do not get paid as you go into draw.

Not to mention how mind-numbingly boring it is...sheesh...we have three or four appliance associates at any given time, even on our really dead days...we all stand around and wait...and wait...and wait...it is like this for eight hours day in and day out. There's only so much cleaning, dusting, wandering aisles and reading Pebble you can do, but the computer insists on scheduling us that way...it thinks that there's a huge crowd lining up at our doors.

I really love the days where you an go four hours without a customer, then when you do, they want the cheapest of whatever they are looking for, bar none. No PA, no nothing. $10 commission, if that...but things are all A-OK in Sears land according to the conversations from the company "leaders" on Pebble!

It is very possible for someone to make more $ in a busier store with only 20-30 hours a week than someone in a dead store on 40 hours a week. It is a lot harder to get out of draw pay on 40 hours a week. In a slow store, you dig a deeper hole as each week goes by.

In Pittsburgh, they always coded extra hours over 29 as "Training" to take care of their pets.

Yes, all FT is over 30 hours a week. Most FT associates in my Kmart are scheduled for 30 to 33 hours.

No,but I did read on SHC that for the holiday season part time associates are to be scheduled only up to 29 hours a week ,if they are working over that, which many do,they must be offered full time,if they have open availablty. Or it stated that if part time workers are being scheduled too many hours, the manager is to hire more part time associates. No mention of cutting full yine hours, although anything over 30 hours is suppose to be full time.
