Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Downgrading non manager tier 4s.

I did hear a rumor of downgrading non manager tier 4s. This sounds a bit extreme, but it seems quite plausible. Our facility has a VERY unusual T4 ratio (way too many for # of engineers). BUT that is due to a bazillion T2-T3 that have quite, retired, or been RIFd. We've lost more than 50% of our staff over the past 10 years.

If you are a Band 4 but do not have Sr. or Principle in your title, I wouldn't count on having any MIP after next year. IMHO. And ONLY MHO. But based on everything else going on, is this hard to believe that HON would do this?

The days of mutual respect between employer and employee are gone...gone...gone...

Re: Target.. There is probably some of that in most functional groups. I did see some of these types get their "come up'ns". Really wish some of these guys wouldn't be so gallant about how much they make for what they do. We all know the type "I get paid for what I know, not what I do". It's really not fair to paint an entire functional group with this type of work ethic, although some groups have more than others.

There are some band 4 Principal engrs that are not up to that title. They got "promoted" at one time because they threatened to leave and their spineless mgr kowtowed. In Deer Valley, we are top heavy with band 4s that spend most of the time doing routine band 3 type work. Sorry, my opinion, and not wanting to start a flame war.

That has gone on a number of times since 2008. This likely fact, not rumor. It should come as no surprise considering the furloughs, MIP reduction, delayed merit, and possible reductions in pay rate.
