1,050 were RIF'd at the end of 2015 and almost every department felt it. Now if lets say the consolidation in ASIAN locations already affected 3000 to 4000. That is still ( 1600+6500 ) - (3000 to 4000 = 4100 to 5100 affected. That is 4 to 5 times the amount of layoffs more then that of the end of 2015. I remember that someone mentioned that a certain department was not effected because enough people left before it happened and most new requisitions were closed. But since this is 4 to 5X more, I definitely believe everyone will be effected in a way or another, in HDD of course. People who are leaving are smart. Finding new employment is very hard. This is still true even for transferring to SSD or another location within Seagate. But being RIF'd and then finding new employment makes it so much harder. And being unemployed is very hard period. This is especially true for people on work visas, which have to leave the US if anything happens to their status.

There were two announcements. One for 1600 and another for 6500. Of those, only about 3-4000 have been affected.
It was announced that more layoffs would occur by year end, right (6500?)
How many were impacted in June? Wondering how many are left to be RIF'd?
Seems like a lot of folks are leaving on their own, so maybe the layoff #'s will be adjusted!!? ;)

Oct is better, at least the new pay/promotion is already in effect.
