They probably will get severance. All the FT get 1 week for every year they have been there after the first one. It tops out at 8 weeks.

Are the Store Managers that are losing their jobs, will they get a severance package? Did you see anything about that

They need to close the Sears stores in Pittsburgh. They are oversized and BLEED the red ink. The DMs don't have a retail clue. They should put all the merchandise in a single floor KMart with a better layout.

Ok thanks, all of the stores in my area Charleston/Summerville SC were these numbers, closure dates listed:

7239(1/2014) opened 1978

3080(05/2014?) opened early 70's?

4739 (2002) early 90's built store.

3606, Kmart/Sears Grand/Kmart Still open, build date?

4953, Still open, 1994? opened store

We only have 2 Kmarts and 2 Sears stores in my area left.

Anyone know if 4953/3606, Kmarts going to close this year?

Don't worry. I will be posting a whole lot more things about our DM and Kmart in general, when our store is announced. Things that they would probably not want made public. After 20+ years, I have seen a lot.

You should have posted the name of the scum bag DM so that eventually the higher-up douchebags would hopefully take her job too for allowing this information to open through her negligence to be posted... poetic justice:)

17 of them are Seritage properties.. They are walking away from the lease , they have to pay a years lease to do it. At this point if you work at a Kmart and your store is not profitable find another job.

Until the 90s, the store numbers' first digit was based on the size and format of the store. 7xxx meant a store 70,000 to 80,000 sf, for example.

I am just taking a guess, they own the Sears stores outright. But they lease the Kmarts.

No, my former store is 4093 & it was built in the late 60's, I believe.

What in the world is going on at Sears Holdings? That is a lot of stores closing. Why do they close the Kmart Stores so much, and not the Sears Stores, Kmart is doing better than Sears.

I do not know if this is true, is any of the stores in the 4000-4999, the 90s build ones by chance?
