Anyway, according to other rumors here, all EU sites are on the death list. San Diego has been officially nominated as "modem development site", so that info alone should be enough of a warning.

The only site that might survive is Duisburg, where some IOT work is done, and some offices in Munich for future car industry projects. 75xx modems will be intel-fabbed (if ever), so no more work for french sites, too. Aalborg has been officially announced closed, then the big A protested and they cancelled the closure. Her Majesty Aicha flow to deliver personally the great news. The cancellation, of course, "you are a great team bla blaa, your contribution has been aknowledged by customer..", usual motivational crap

Morale is down completely. Nobody knows how long the site will stay, there is nothing to be done here, no development any more, only maintenance work for that only modem customer. Site manager has left and people left have no ilusions. Lot of people who have been 20+ years in the same job, extremely good engineers, but very narrow skill sets, will probably hit the job market all at once. Some are still hoping that Intel manages the turnaround :) :) that's ridiculous. If this happens, than it certainly won't be Nuremberg where 5G development is done.

Seems like nothing serious has happened in intel Nürnberg. Was the OP trolling / trying to make some hot air?

There's a lot of EE job options in nuremberg and erlangen, no problem for these colleagues to find something new if they are not low performers. In case they are, screw them. THIS IS SPARTA, ahhh CAPITALISM - sorry, get a Ph.D s---ers...

It's very hard on everybody that has been cut loose. The economy in both Europe and USA are disasters for experienced, professionals. There is no work available and I'm afraid we'll be working for much less, if we even get a job.
