Total hellhole!

@-ekv: Idiot, yes it takes months if one is in an area with no many job openings or even if he is overqualified.....a-hole.
Haha. Similar issues in general economy as at Intel. The highly available jobs in the outside Obama economy are similar quality to entry level call centers, insurance sales and care giving. Manufacturing is gone in this country. NAFTA has seen to that demise. The internal nay sayer hold outs all think that they will just "get a job" with Samsung if they lose theirs. Haha. Guess again s---ers. Product development and mfg all offshore. Sadly, USA has very few jobs left in this area and is clearly a service based economy. What a waste to lose our economic forte to globalization. Shame.
Takes months of not finding work,
😏😐😔 only if you are incompetent and dead wood.
@JivxgNE-gov When, a day. a month, 6 months before the project cancellations, the big technology slip announcement or the ACT1 or ACT2. Hope you got a good crystal ball and offer in hand. Takes months of not longer to find a job and it won't be easy once the $hit hits the fan, LOL
Don't feel sorry for us we can leave if/when we need to
@fvs - This will become a business school case on what NOT to do. Shows you how desperate MCM leadership really is, as they know competition is circling closer and closer, and the company has completely lost direction under BK. Not a good time to be an Intel employee, the next year or so will completely clarify things to those deniers and Kool Aid drinkers still out there.
They must be convinced the experienced peopleare the problem
Great points, @kap. I too have thought about that. They didn't even get braindumps from those ISPed. You'd THINK they'd want/need the experience that walked out the door to better the company. I don't think they really thought about the consequences which concerns me more.
They know more than we do about what's going on and it must be pretty damn dire for this knee-jerk reaction to purge the company of HIGHLY experienced and hard working people.
Honestly, ACT will be a Business School Case Study. It is astounding how untold years of experience in critical areas was simply and summarily cast out of the company in one fell swoop. As OP mentions, it is better with distance, every day.
ACT not only did not fix the issues, it made them much worse by getting rid of a lot of worker bees and experienced employees, and creating a hostile environment that completely sunk morale of the remaining employees. I predict a lot of execution delays and missteps will happen in the next 1-2 years as a result of ACT. This is absolutely the worst time they could have carried out such an action, with competitive pressure creeping in all flanks: process technology, servers, client, mobile, you name it.
yeah, I'm really not sure what exactly ACT was supposed to accomplish. I'm sure it was the high salaries going forward but it sure was costly upfront!
Agreed the VSP/ISP ACT did little to fix what was broken at Intel but those even those who felt screwed will realize upon seeing what will happen at the company and their respective parted paths, be very happy in 2018!
