Slb bosses must need some good surveys, now making people take it. Most of them are lying afraid of losing job if told truth.

As a cameron employee this is the first year I was hounded to take this survey. Normally I'd just blow them off and never take them this year I was called into the bosses office to take it. Not sure how to feel about the layoffs. I used to love my job now with all the uncertainty of the future of the company it's hard to get up and go in.

The survey is being done because Cameron has done this same survey for years. So now SLB, which til now has never asked an employee anything beyond "can you work your next days off?, is implementing the survey and they are all about legacy SLB participation rate being at least equal to Cameron participation. The surveys will be kept confidential, but will be aggregated by N+1 as listed in LDAP. Individual managers will get their group results if they have at least 5 subordinates completing the survey. So don't freak out if you are the only direct report your boss has. And please be assured that this is an engagement survey, i.e. how engaged are you in your job??? It's not a survey of what you think of the company, the company doesn't care about that. Kibsgaard's goal is to create the best managed company in the world... not to create the best employer. You may as well answer honestly.

layoff happen everywhere, small size, mid size, or global company. What i don't like is the systematic layoff pick??. ok if somebody have low performance, it fine. But some mothrfcker can't even do nothing still stay and get promote and the promotion is just because they already throw away some real talent Bye SLB, it my first memory in oil and gas industry.

The old management technique Slb believed in was behavior based management. Simply put the ABC theory or reward based incentive. Employee does a good job the employee gets a reward. The issue now is we are gong to a directive based management system full of checklists and away from decision. These surveys are attached to checklists that define the new behavior model. By gauging the discontent of the employee it can be told how effective directive management is thus far. So shut up and do as your told....emotions are not a Viking value

I don't see this survey making any difference. Do you think management is suddenly going to give a sheit about the employees? No, they might pretend to care but nobody will believe or trust them. Nothing will change.

SLB now has 8% of the hydraulic fracturing market in NAM. That's right, 8%. I remember when we had 30-35% and NAM mgmt wanted to be #1. Guess that really has not worked out too well? How is it that Pressure Pumping managers still have a job? Love to see their survey answers.

Seems to me SLB must be right in the sh-- to even consider such a survey. The workforce on a global scale must be totally demoralised, Why else have a survey and I would think they do know they have a problem or they would not feel inclined to conduct such a survey. If everyone was contented and happy well would a company waste such a sum of cash and time on a survey - of coarse not.

If the managers were half decent and a quarter intelligent then there would be no need for this pathetic attempt at a money burning fiasco. Sack the managers who have no idea about their staff...a swathe of managers would be jobless with little prospect of employment.

honestly I think the managers bonuses are depending on the surveys. why else force an "optional" survey on everyone.

Why would you care about giving your honest answer if you do your job and give your all you a valued employee anyways. I just took the survey and answered honestly. Everyone always has to make everything such a conspiracy. :(

I had the most incompetent PG mgr in AL ever. Couldn't tell a tree from a pump but he thought he had great hair. What a waste of a job. I'm sure SLB will lose another XX℅ marketshare with this corporate wannabe azzligg.

GE is kicking their butt now along with some good Chinese companies. It's all because of incompetence not the market!

The whole conspiracy theory that somehow they are examining individual responses to target layoffs gives the company far more credit for caring about individualn employees than it deserves. Tell the truth and give them feedback that makes them sit up and take notice. Remember, anything below a 3.5 average suggests a disfunctional workplace.

Nope, ain't scared. I told the truth. At my age they're likely to walk me out at any time anyway. If this speeds that up, then so be it.

I'm not sure what the big push is for. People jump at the chance to give negative feedback when it's asked for. Right now the survey is flying off the shelves in North America. We are leading the way at over 50% complete in the first week.

Ask yourself how many surveys do you waste your time with when service was good? When it's the least bit under expectations you hop all over the survey and let them have it.

Going to be a shocker that engagement is at an all time low as trust and respect for management is non existent. :(
