We really should get rid of the 9/80

To all the trolls and idiots that read this, everyone is mad because the grand tit onto which everyone s---led is drying up. This means people need to go find a new job ( most were recruited and we're blessed wn in the interview to accept), and since they never had to actually work before they are now pissed off. COP kept they fat dumb and happy with fat checks, RSUs, bonuses, contractor perks, free bribes in the field, new pools, paid vacations to conferences, and the myriad of other cash and gratuity that they pocketed. And now they complain about 9/80 days ... How sad :(
Yes, It now means "take 9 fifteen minute breaks and one 80 minute lunch".
Rodney King be like "Can't we all just get along?"
Fzr u must be a young person that has not been through 4-5 downturns. What do you think no raises does to moral? Think management cares. Your an idiot!
Blah blah, I'm gonna be laid off to next week too. You pssys need to grow some nuts and find another job. The benefits won't be anywhere near what we have now but that's life. With all the miserable people posting here, no wonder this company is doomed.
I'm looking forward to not watching all the pukes post on this board, yep, just called myself a puke for stooping as low as you dumb effs.
Viva COP
Why would they stop it during a downturn? People are less busy, it won't change overhead costs, and it will just drop morale even further.
Stop being a kiss a--, your boss can't see your anonymous posts.
One of the main reasons they started 9/80's is because other companies were offering it and we were losing people left and right. They thought it would help stop the bleeding. Yes we had people quit because they would get more days off. Now they should stop it since in the down turn.
@irde is spot on! Too many abuse, and work the system. Supervisors or directors who allow that behavior should be cut first! It causes low morale. Combine the existing morale from abuse of flexibility, along with lay offs, and one can understand why so many are angry. (And some of why the company is failing).....Some have a 'book of excuses' they use in order to be off a lot more than the 9/80 and vacation.
I think it's funny that you said people use their 9/80 to get stuff done lol meanwhile I have teammates that still find ways to be off during the work week for dog appointments hair appointments chiropractor appointments headaches stomach aches and sometimes 3-4 times a weeks so the purpose of 9/80 is a joke
Don't worry. You will have 80/80 starting on Monday buddy. WTF.
Our manager actually monitored the floor for 4 months in 2014 because she she was sure people were cheating on the 9/80's. She didn't believe in them and said her six weeks of vacation was plenty. Guess what, she found that most people didn't even take all their allocated 9/80's (treating them as optional) and only about 10% of the people took all of them. The one person who was gone a lot (turns out) was taking a vacation day to get the other friday off. This whole "9/80 is bad" is complete bullsh1t and totally outdated. When oil prices come back, and they will, that 9/80 is just one more thing to help keep people here at COP instead of jumping to the other 50 companies that will all be hiring in a panic.
80 hours are still worked in 2 weeks, what's wrong with that?
Nobody act like they are busy enough at COP right now to require working all Fridays. We are so overstaffed people are sitting around playing Candy Crush all day. Most productive people could do all their 'work' in like 10 hours per week at this point.
Amazing some people think they are busy enough to justify removing 9/80s. Clowns.
"a lot of us" will be unemployed after next week, dmbass...at least you "pretty much d licking", self-entitled slackers who should have been gone in previous rounds of layoffs will be...honey. if you need 100 hours in a week to get yer job done, yer no good at your job and yer fkng worthless. show up with some skillz and be productive, or get in the fkng welfare line, b--chez!
"moar!", cries the Free Sht Army!!! "we're not capable, we can't achieve, but we DESERVE everything!"
hey-soo-fkng-krees-toe...you gdmn fkng people amaze me
A lot of us will have a lot of 9/80 time after next week. Also the person that started this is pretty much a d licker.
You sound like one of those ridiculous people who hasn't accomplished anything on time or in an organized fashion for the last decade, shows up for every meeting you're invited to 15 minutes late and forces most of it to be repeated, and doesn't show up at all to them a high percentage of the time if a meeting is before 10 am because you're busy shuttling your kids all over town. All the jobs I've ever had I have always had to take pto if I needed to catch up on life stuff during the week. Makes you a little more prone to having your act together personally if it comes out of your vacation time as a result of you being a constant drama producing basket case.
Oh honey, let me tell you. I came from the un- entitled contracting epc side. They still do 9/80 as well. It has nothing to do with the schedule. It has to do with the workers. Grow up. I look at all the perks around me as a blessing. But letting people have that one day on the week to get stuff done like doctors appointments and crap is not bad. So calling me entitled when you likely don't know what working REAL hours are... Try working the construction side on an EPC job. Work 100 hits a week for 10 weeks straight, get 3 weeks off and then repeat for a year. Don't call me entitled. So asking for a Friday off to get stuff done when u get my own job done... Have you done your job? Is that why this company is doing so well?
I completely agree with uzf. I cannot believe how consistently poor even basic attendance is. And don't even start with the working from home crap. It's not just Fridays either. It's complete absenteeism on the part of all levels of leadership and the s--- up drones with no mind of their own just emulate the behavior. That's all they know how to do.
seriously?! overall productivity dropped by 20% the day we started 9/80. fkng nobody is around every - single - fkng Friday. nothing happens on Friday any more. I've shocked people by scheduling meetings on Friday, because the culture has degraded to the point that Friday's are de-facto no longer work days.
reason #947 that this piece-of-sh--e company is no longer profitable: we only work 4 days a week, and
the majority (including this dmbss shthead -rjt) act like they're being shafted for having to show up at all.
you self-entitled fkng pieces of sht make me sick! this kind of bs is why this bloated behemoth of a company is taking a terminal nose dive. every one of you ckskrs who thinks you are entitled to a 4-day work week should just go ahead and apply for welfare...because receiving handouts is all you're capable of. go fk youself, pssy!
fk!!
Are you on the ELT or s--- up to someone who is on it? Seriously because that comment smells of someone in management who literally goes "hmmm, morale is terrible, let's take things away from people and watch morale improve!"
