We lost billions on Tablets and lost two years of time and focus

We may not lose billions on modems but we'll lose time and focus that is desperately needed

We WILL lose billions on memory, IoT and 5G and time and focus

We can already see the ship springing leaks everywhere. We have third generation Kaby and likely a fourth generation as the CEO and MCM seem willing to accept TMG's inability to keep Moore's Cadence from the front, while TSMC and Samsung seem to be able to match this year and by next year BEAT Intel.

BK seems to be spending all the time and energy in the wrong place. He needs to fix the engine that makes intel run and that is TMG and yet nothing is happening in TMG

BK may not call it contra-revenue any more, but you can be sure the margins on the Apple modems, if they didn't massage the books, are paper thin or negative. We're being used for negotiating leverage against Qualcomm. And if we're really successful, we will win more zero margin business.

The board and investors are going to have to get used to a new world order.

What matters isn't the just the goal but how you hit it.

We hit the goal but got there with an competitive product and to make it attractive wrapped money around it and sold it at a loss.

This set all kind of bad precedents at the company that continue to this day.

The ONLY reason Intel sold as many phones/Tablets they did was because of the Contra. $$ wrapped for each SoC given to the ODM. Each new RCG wanting to join Intel needs to ask the HR and hiring manager sitting across from you during the interview about WHY did Intel miss the ENTIRE mobile market. MCM being paid MILLIONS to make the right choice or in this case the MOST OBVIOUS shift in 15yrs, and yes...Intel blew it. Why...ask WHY???

One thing about Renee James that she was spot on about was that if did not hit the 40 million number there will be dyer consequences. Intel is experiencing it and it will only get worse.
